Location
Mauritius is a small island nation located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, approximately 860 km east of Madagascar. The Portuguese explorer Don Pedro Mascarenhas was the first to introduce it to the world in 1505.
Weather
Mauritius enjoys a relatively moderate climate throughout the year. Despite occasional rainfall, the best times to visit the island are between April and June and from September to December. Since Mauritius is located in the Southern Hemisphere, the summer and winter seasons occur opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere.
